This section will show and explain camera artifacts that are often mistaken for earthlights and UAPs.
Airplane artifacts
People often do not see aircraft's dim strobes. Near airports airplanes turn on their landing lights when landing and turn them off after departure. This may make airplanes seem to appear and disappear. Some surmise the airplane had "shot off quickly into outer space" when all it has done is turn off the landing light.
These photos show the "light tracks" that airplanes leave as they fly along during a 30 second exposure. Sometimes slight turns can make the landing lights dim or brighten. This airplane was landing at Flagstaff (FLG), AZ airport.
